    Hi

Have ordered a dv6 with the following specs:

    Intel® Core™ i7-720QM Processor (1.60GHz, Turbo) 1333MHz/6MB L3 Cache
    15.6" Diagonal High-Definition LED HP Brightview Widescreen Display (1366 x 768)
    640GB-7200 RPM
    4gb 1333Mhz RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5650 graphics

The retailer said the model no is dv6 3050tx.
So, where do i post? I mean, in the select edition or quad core thread ?

I am also in a dilemma as to cancel this order and go for Envy 14 quad core. is the display on the dv6 very bad compared to radiance?
    Please advise.

Select Edition, most likely. It's definitely not the Quad Edition since it's a dv6-3000 model with a 5650. The only question is whether or not it has a metal finish. If it does, it's a select edition. If it doesn't, it's a regular dv6-3000 and technically doesn't belong in either thread, but is still much closer to the Select Edition than the Quad Edition (since the Quad Edition was part of the dv6-2000 series and looks totally different).

What are you planning on using the laptop for? Some cases going with the radiance is worth it, other cases it isn't

    thanks for the quick responses.

the finish is : Argento Blush (Metal)with modern etchedStream illustrations

i would be mostly using it for development(labview, matlab), watching movies and the usual office stuff like MS word, outlook and web browsing.

and i am not much of a gamer..i still play some dos games on my desktop

Prebulit models rarely do, unfortunately, which is the only reason I custom ordered mine.
