    Hello,
I went to a link I got here in this forum and it has a procedure that I can clean install Vista if I have a Vista Anytime Upgrade CD. My HP Pavillion came from HP with Vista installed, and there is a Vista OEM sticker on the bottom with a license key number on it.

The Vista installation on the Pavillion is broken. I am going to erase the drive and start clean. I have no recovery capability.

The link where they describe the clean install procedure is by somebody called - OREV the virtuoso

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=120228

The first thing I need is something called

    Vista Anytime Upgrade CD

OREV talks like these are easy to find/get for about $10. I looked on craigslist and on eBay and I dont notice they have anything that fits that description.

What is OREV talking about ?

If these disks are so widely available won't somebody here please tell me how to get one?

    TIA Bill S.

It's illegal according to Microsoft's EULA to sell or otherwise profit from the Windows Vista Anytime Upgrade disc, which is probably why you won't find them on Craigslist or e-Bay.

The disc contains all versions of Windows Vista on it and allows you to install the same version of Vista that you originally purchased. All you have to do then is re-register it with Microsoft online. The disc doesn't cost anything other than a small shipping and handling fee.

It's important to point out that you should only install the version of Vista that you purchased; if you don't, you will not be able to register your copy when you need to input your key for the Vista version you bought.

    Anyway, here's the link:

Mmm yeah it is. It looks like Microsoft temporarily removed the ability to order the disc on their site...
