hey guys, I am thinking of buying a HP Pavillon dv8000t, since it looks much more sexy to me than the new 9000t ..

I found some good bargains on ebay, BUT they only feature 30-90 days HP warranty, which really sucks.. so I was wondering where I could buy an HP Pavilion dv8000t, since HP doesn't produce them anymore (so sad!)

I would be interested in a 2.16-2.33Ghz (T2600 or T2700 Yonah Dual Core processor.. those are really cheap right now and are really good, I will upgrade later).
    100 or 200 gig 7200rpm Hitachi HDD
    256 if possible 512 MB Geforce 7600
    2Gig of 667Mhz ram

Let me know where I could find a baby like this WITH longer warranty than what is on ebay atm.. thanks!!!!!

Are you asking for a longer HP warranty? If so, I'd expect to be dissapointed since I'm pretty sure HP doesn't sell new warranties on discontinued products. I suppose it's possible you could find someone who purchased the 8000t last year with a 2 or 3 year HP warranty, though I'm not sure if HP will transfer warranties like Dell will.

Here is an orphan you might want to look at..........you can purchase a 3 year warranty too. Not sure about the company as I have never dealt with them.........

Not quite the specs you were looking for but Compusa has one for $799.99 after $180 rebates brand new, and comes with the standard 1 year HP warranty Click here, HP DV8408US

I got the same one there about a month ago, I just upgraded the RAM to 2 gb for about $105. The video card I got in mine was the Geforce 7600 256 mb instead of the Geforce 7400 128 mb card listed in the specs. Someone that reviewed it on the Compusa website also got the Geforce 7600 not sure if it is standard or YMMV. The processor I got was 1.83 ghz and not 1.73 as listed. I think I read you can upgrade the processor on these laptops to a Core 2 Duo if you wanted.
