Search that part number on ebay. Also, HP's parts store should have it.

Anything recently released by HP is also not in the HP Part store either. So no dv6 3xxx parts at the moment still.

HP parts store has it for ~$93.

    HP PartSurfer

Enter the part number without the "-001"

Mad I'm looking to install the backlit keyboard too, once the parts bought - any idea what's required in terms of installation etc. Can't say I've ever done this before haha

Same, connected through the zif and perhaps in another port on the mobo to power the illumination. HP uses the same mobo for all units with the only variation being graphics chips on the mobo.

Is it confusing if you've never done it before? I've done zif changes quite a few times but the other ports sound a little confusing.

No, it's intuitive. Basically plug and play. You'll see once you get started.

I'm also considering this swap. The manual says the backlit keyboard includes a keyboard cable and a keyboard light cable. I have an AMD dv6 version and I'm also concerned whether there will be issues with an additional cable. Though generally, it seems fairly simple from looking at the manual.

If anyone decides to give it a go, please let me know.

I'm kind of skeptical whether I want to do it or not, does the HP parts surfer ship internationally? The Australian server shows no backlit keyboard so I don't have much of a choice but to buy from the US one.

This is probably a long shot but...

Does the dm4 use the same keyboard? I know the laptop is a bit smaller but if you look closely, the edges beside the keyboard measures shorter than a dv6. All the keys are exactly the same.

EDIT: Nvm, just noticed the left most keys aren't present on the keyboard.

Wish I could say I had, but I can't get them anywhere, I was thinking of getting the Blu-Ray Drive though. for $70 it's still well put in the back of my head but still indecisive.
