i7 or Quad?
will use as entertainment computer
-
The i7s are newer quad cores. The Core 2 Quads are older. So technically, the i7s are better.
But for an entertainment computer, you should do just fine with a duo core. -

i7 is better (it also has 4 cores).
But I think the worst i7 vs the best quad, the quad would win.
Anyway, if you want the best, go for i7. -
Just note that while current i7s are quad cores, in Q1 2010, Arrandale will be released as i3/5/7, which are dual cores.

i7 is far superior over quad core do a google on them u will see
-
In addition, you need a a program that utilizes these new feature, and as of today, that number is scarce. In fact, few manufactures even produce product that optimize quad core.
So unless you have an application you know will utilize the best your system has to offers, it's unlikely these minor parts improvements will do you much good. -
i7 has new technologies like the Hyperthreading and Turbo-boost.. so it's better.
-
Hyperthreading tho, will take a little bit to show usefulness in apps. -
Even with turboboost, your computer still is going to be only as fast as its slowest component. So unless your applications are CPU bound, then you'll likely to see little improvement of a i7 vs quad. -
Most users won't stress the CPU very often and I doubt they'll see any difference between a C2D, C2Q, or a quad core i7 99% of the time.
which CPU is better ?
