The 5650 will beat the 335, but by a small margin.
I think you look to much to specs before you buy, because the envy 14 and alienware mx11 are two COMPLETE different machines.

    I should go for the envy 14 (I'm a envy 15 owner)
It has a better screen (by far)
It has a longer battery life
    It has a larger screen
    It weights less
    It's thinner
    etc.

The GPU in the Envy 14 is under clocked though...

...so it might preform below the 335m...

    am I correct?

Even underclocked I think it's still slightly better.

I think it may perform under the 335m.

but in the m11x unless they have regular mobile i5s (not the ULV ones or whatever) you'll be limited a bit by your processor

still it also has a smaller resolution so how that'll effect gaming I dunno.

The M11x was really appealing due to it having CULV options, so it can get some pretty crazy battery life.

Unfortunately, it's made of plastic, and apparently pretty cheap plastic. I read reports of the hinges breaking and parts falling off all the time.

If I could have the M11x's processor options (even if I had to have a slightly slower GPU) in the Envy 14, that would be perfect.

Still, the M11x has a smaller screen, but it is 1366x768 on an 11 inch panel, so it should look fine. Having 1600x900 on an 11 inch panel would be pointless and unreadable.

Well supposedly the lower the res the more computer dependant. But I doubt the M11x can run SC2 as well as the envy just because of the cpu (ofcource I havent checked yet so I might be wrong).

Then again I feel like the e14 can't run sc2 super well either so =\
Sleek and classy over thick and tacky anyday.

You should also consider what your using the machine for... Do you need a portable lightweight gaming grade netbookish laptop. Or do you need a portable powerhouse with a large screen resolution

The GT335m in my m11xR1 does pretty well. The GT335m GPU clock easily over-clocks to 540, remaining stable and cool. The memory clock can sit stable at 965 while the core clock maxes out at 1296. I have no issues with heat. Most games I've thrown at it stay above 30fps in high or better settings with minimum AA (output to a 1080p monitor). Certain CPU intensive games, like Empire Total War, suffer frame drops and occasional stutters while scrolling during intense play. The fps drops are noticeable, but don't last long enough to be game-stoppers. OC'ing the GPU doesn't help in these cases, but I would imagine the core i* CULV processors offered now would offer drastic improvement there.

    GPU has no DX11 support.

I haven't played SC2 on it, so I don't know how it performs.

The construction is mostly plastic, but sturdy at least. Minor bumps and drops won't crack it, but may leave permanent impressions. That is much the case with aluminum as well. The hinges click when opening past a certain point, but I've discovered this the be the plastic housing flexing and not the actual hinges.

The screen is absolute trash and the keyboard sucks. After typing for a few hours I must stop and clean the keys because they have a smooth surface with no traction and the oils from my fingertips make them feel slick.

On integrated graphics I usually get in the neighborhood of 6 hours on battery. That is with wireless radios on and under normal workday use (typing in word processors, spreadsheets, powerpoint, web browsers running, etc.)

The m11x's weight and dimensions make it feel like a brick in my hand. Inside a bag it takes up little real estate and is no bother at all.

E14's 5650 should perform close to the GT335m in most games. Naturally, in a few games one will noticeably outperform the other. The 5650 also supports DX11. While I don't expect DX11 games to play on it too well, at least until devs get more proficient with DX11 games, it does provide a bit more longevity to the laptop since DX11 is increasing in popularity.

The E14 offers much more processor power and a better screen that is without comparison between the two, but trades off battery life to accomplish this.

I'll know which I prefer when I have my E14 in front of me, but I believe if I had $1100 to burn and a choice between the two, I would go with the E14. If you can get an m11x spec'd to your liking for $700ish that's a good deal IMO.
