okay guys i recently bought a refurbished laptop from wal-mart for $583.99
it was a HP Envy 14-1110nr with the following specs
intel i5 460m processor
4gb ram
radeon hd 5650 with 1gb dedicated memory
and unfortunately im having issues with the refurb like the backlit keyboard doesnt work, i cant overclock it no matter what, etc. i'm weary about purchasing another refurb, but that's the only way i can get a laptop with good specs at a low price, i think i just got unlucky this time around
Walmart has offered to replace it for me,or i can just get a refund and get a refurbished hp dv6-6135dx off amazon/tiger direct for $529
I'm a college student, i know these laptops will do normal tasks fine, but i need one that will play bf3,cod mw3, saints row 3, etc.(basically games like that) but my budget is $600 if i can spend less then that means the remaining cash goes to upgrades like ram, wireless mouse, cooling pad etc. Now after doing some research im starting to think the HP dv6-6135dx might be the better buy,and hopefully be easier for me to overclock. But i decided to ask some of the forum members to see what they think
so what do yall guys think is a better buy/give me the most bang for my buck
please reply soon

HD6770M is definitely a lot better than HD5650M but i think Saint Row 3 are not quite playable because of poor driver optimization.. correct me if i'm wrong.
What is the proc for 6135DX? -
DV6-6135DX has A8-3500m CPU. I'd pick the DV6-6135dx over the Envy 14.
-
the Envy has a First Gen. i5 which puts it in the same category as a lower class 2nd gen i3. The dv6's llano A8 competes (though not directly) with middle -higher class 2nd gen i3's when overclocked. it'll do everything you need it for.
-
A8-3500m overclocked is like a quad core i5. I wouldn't worry about it. Just take a look at my guides and you'll be overclocked and humming along in no time.

okay now which company do yall recommend buying the refurbished laptop from
TigerDirect $529
or
Newegg $539
i understand that there are no refunds when purchased from Newegg, but i dont know if Tigerdirect offers refunds either so if anyone can clarify this it would be greatly appreciated
oh and which has better customer service Newegg or TigerDirect? -
looks like both only accept exchanges if the laptop is defective.
tigerdirect's page:
This Product Has Limited Exchange Privileges.
For support on this product, please contact HP at 800-334-5144. Defective exchanges for identical item within 14 days of purchase permitted on this product with prior manufacturer approval
