I have a HP Dv 9700z, and am looking to upgrade ram to 4gb. Any suggestions as far as brand? Crucial, Kingston?

I've only heard good things about crucial. I'm sure you could also go to newegg since they have a good policy about memory and returns, if I remember correctly.

I always go with Transcend, they use quality chips, always use stock voltages (not like lots of the "performance" memory that comes running at a higher voltage) and they've got a no questions lifetime warranty.

I have 4gb transcend ram in my notebook right now :D. It was the cheapest ram on newegg at the time I bought it.
