My first notebook had an annoying whine, so i returned that asap. My second worked great for a year until the motherboard died. I had my motherboard replaced by HP. I received the computer and everything works great, but now I have the annoying cpu or gpu whine. Its irritating especially in the school library. The whine happens whenever I scroll, open/close a window and at other random times. When i set the processor state to 95 or below the whine is pretty much gone but I can notice a decrease in performance, such as not being able to play hd content smoothly. Should I try to get the unit replaced? Or does hp consider this within their quality standards?
