Best Buy is offering two years zero percent financing right now while hp.com is only offering one year. If I run up to Best Buy and configure one can they deliver one as fast as HP.com?

I think so. They did a reasonable job with mine. Basically, they punch in your configuration on a HP web page that's similar to the one you'd use at hp.com, and the order goes to Shanghai with the rest of them. Be sure to sign up for the Best Buy Rewards Zone program if you haven't already, gets you 4% back in Best Buy store coupons.

Hey, they added a 60GB 7200RPM HD option. Neato. Overpriced, but neato. They're learning. They're still only offering 4200RPM drives on the zv5000z/r3000z (idiots) but the r3000z picked up the 100GB drive option.

Maybe printout a price quote sheet of the configuration you want from hp.com before you head over to Best Buy, just to be safe?

    Are the prices the same?
I have heard that it costs more to do it through best buy.

It would definetly cost more at BestBuy, at least my zx5000 configuration did. BestBuy's price came to $1645 when on HPShopping the total was $1315 after student discount.

I would buy from HP even with the 1 year no-interest program - how long do you want to pay for this laptop? It'll be outdated within 3 years anyway. Also, from what I've heard, people have been getting their custom notebooks from HP within 5-9 days of the order date... Up to you.

From what I have read about HP, it seems that they tell you the date to expect delivery, but most people receive it earlier than expected. Im sure someone can verify this.

yes, they tell you the date that is farther out then they expect to get it to you so you aren't upset if it arrives within the time.
