hello, i am a computer noob and recently ordered dv7tqe.
i am excited about this product so i am reading all the helpful and informative threads in this forums and i have some question.

i was reading the out-of-box guide thread
and it says to re-install window, or "clean" install.

what does that mean? why would i have to re install window?

and it also says to do a back-up disk burn, is that neccesary?
i mean, whenver i had some issues with my computer i just
re-installed window and started from there

i would appreciate all kinds of answers and help
    thank you

it is recommended because the laptop will come with a lot of pre-installed software that will drag it down.

the back up DVD is in case anything ever happens and you need to reinstall windows

unless you really feel there is a reason for it, there is no need to reinstall. The whole bloatware issue has been somewhat exaggerated
