    why doesnt my s-video port work?

    i have a v3000z and i tried hooking up my laptop to my tv, my sisters laptop works but mine doesn she has some other compaq.
    i connected the s-video cables to my laptop and then to my tv but it doesnt even start or anything. do i need some sort of driver?

    Not sure why you are having problems - I thought I was too but then I had read that I needed to use Ctrl-T to activate the TV-Out function on that port. Once I did that I found happiness!

    Hi Furasha,
    On the DV 5030 I have to put the machine in sleep or shut it down then plug in the S-Video cable. When I bring it back up it auto detects it.

    I am chatting with tech support about this right now, I get a scrambled black and white screen, they are telling me to reset the BIOS. More to come.
