i've got two of the same computer. brief rundown
one has a 140 GB HD
the other has a 142
the content on the two are both almost identical yet the 142GB has a significant amount more of space and i can't tell why.
"downloaded stuff" on both comes to 104GB
in program files the 142GB has 2.5GB total while the 140GB has 888MB
these are the only two areas i can see that would take up the most space and yet the 142GB still has 14.9GB of space left while my 140GB has 437MB. any ideas?

Maybe temporary files? Try downloading CCleaner and running it.
Here's a link:
http://www.ccleaner.com/ -
ran it and only found 109MB worth of stuff to delete. still not making a dent in the seemingly missing 15GB

Delete the last Restore Points. Instructions are in the Vista Tweaks thread in the Windows forum.

Yea most likely temporary cache for the OS and programs,
15gb missing is quite alot im guessing one computer might have different settings or programs that take up space -
can i get a link? search brought up too many results.

got it. lovely. thank you.
why is there significant more space on two of the same dv6000?
