hi i would like to know, why the new models of pavilion like dv5,dv4 or dv3 the most of all models doesnt come with the firewire (1394) port? only few models?
are good this models or are better the old models like dv6500?

Possibly because the decreasing demand for Firewire cannot justify the cost of including it as a feature.

^^ agree
i never used firewire

I did. Digital camcorders use it. But even Apple dropped FireWire on their newer Macbooks and they invented the interface.

it depends on the model. Units with integrated graphics don't have fire wire but the ones with discrete graphics do. I think this is because the two models use different boards.

My laptop has integrated graphics and it has that firewire port.

mine has a cut down version of firewire, which doesnt carry power. think its called a 400a or IEEE 1394a, and has 4 pins instead of 6, the 2 missing being the power supply.
why the new pavilions doesnt come with firewire port?
