please tell me will my HP 510 support Microsoft VISTA. Its 1.6 celeron 512 mb ram 60 gb of hard disk....

It should be able to run Vista given the specifications but it wont be able to run all of the Vista features. The graphics card GMA900 does not support the Aero interface so you will be stuck using the default Vista basic interface. Plus with only 512MB RAM which is the bare minimum. You will definitely need to upgrade to atleast 1GB to run it sensibly.
With the current specifications I would suggest sticking with XP.
Run the Microsoft Windows Vista upgrade advisor, it will list whether the software you currently have is compatible or not...

thanks
but will it support HP 530 vista software cause they are available and i can upgrade my notebook memory .... so what about now...
thanks -
The 530 is sold with Vista in the US atleast... http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF06a/321957-321957-64295-3251176-89315-3375953.html
Plus, it meets the necessary graphics requirements for Aero as well. -
i have run the software you have provided above and it recommands windows vista business edition but it also says to upgrade video and no compatibility with audio, modem and other things i can manage like memory etc...
so any solution ....
thanks -
Video card upgrade is not possible. As for as the audio/modem, search the make/model on the web and see if other manufacturers use the same audio chipset on their Vista machines and if they do they might have the necessary drivers for download.

Hi Miner,,
I have one of those HP 510's. You say in Oct 2007 that Video card is not upgradable.
Are there any new products released since Oct that might allow a video card upgrade?
My 510 has 1gb ram. -
Nope, it has an integrated video card(part of the motherboard) and so isnt upgradable. Also in most cases notebook video cards even if you had one with a dedicated memory arent upgradable. The card has to be a specific MXM type card to be even upgradable. Plus the high cost and proprietary nature of laptops mean that there arent any third party fabcricators unlike desktop video cards.
will HP 510 support vista
