^ that drive is about $130-$140 right now, that's the cheapest I could find it.

alternatively, i put a link in my sig for a 320gb drive for only $77 bucks off of amazon, if you're interested.

you have a dv7t so you can do what many of us did - add another hard drive to the empty spot on the chasis. i doubled my disk space.

it's sick having 640gb of space IN a laptop. my dv7t came with a 320gb and i bought a 320gb from amazon and installed it.

I have sixteen WD 250's in service. The failure rates have been very high.

I have been slowly switching over to the samsug 500's. Best prices I have purchased at was $98 and $99 (with free shipping) at new egg.

WD = Western Digital. They make hard drives.

250's = 250gb. This is the size of the drive.

Samsung = Samsung. They also make hard drives.

500's = 500gb. This is the size of the drive.

"sixteen WD 250's in service" = I have a a lot of notebooks, with a lot of hard drives. I had 16 total western digital hard drives in use.

"The failure rates have been very high" = I have had lots of problems with the Western digital drives.

"I have been slowly switching over to the samsug 500's." = I have been replacing the Western Digital 250gb drives with Samsung 500 GB drives.

"Best prices I have purchased at was $98 and $99 (with free shipping) at new egg." = Over the past few days, the pricing has been very low for these drives, and the company I bought from (NewEgg), offered free shipping.

    Hope that helps :)
