I'm looking at notebooks priced around 1200 or so and I really like the HP dv6500t. Only problem is that it only has a 8400m gs graphics card. I don't know how long these notebooks have been around, but does anyone know any timeframe or when HP might come out with a new line of notebooks? Thanks!

They've only been out less then 2 months, it'll be a while before they refresh it, perhaps when Penryn is released.

penryn (I believe) will be featured in Pavilion HDX. but that is more than GBP1400 or EUR1899 or USS2999.
    I'm buying that.

Actually, it's USD, not USS :D

And an article HERE says that Penryn will be released Q1 2008.

dv3000 has been used, but neither dv7000 or dv10000 have been used.

I thought HDX will be released this month in US, August in Europe, and September in UK? That notebook contains santa rosa, am I right?

I want to know when the refreshed AMD models come out with the DX10 gpus. I figured it would have happened by now..........

Although I doubt they will have a complete new line soon...you can expect newer options for the existing lines....perhaps higher end nvidia cards, 7200rpm drives, 64-bit vista option, 4gb ram, etc. I doubt a complete new line will come out until next year.

I'm guessing that HP is waiting for NVIDIA's new AMD notebook chipset. I thought for sure that HP would switch over to the new AMD/ATI chipset like Dell and Toshiba have done. I do see that HP is using that ATI chipset in some of their business-class notebooks. At least the delay has forced HP to provide 65nm Turion X2 CPU support to their current notebook line.

Yeah, the 65nm X2s seem to be a decent cpu. The TL-58 is running around the temp of my 25W Sempron, and is benching remarkably well in some productivity tasks (such as wPrime). I've been quite pleased with it's performance........
