    will linux fedora os work on my hp dv6113us?

    now that i've learned (the extremely hard way...) that hp has their own versions of windows, i'm doubting that fedora will work on this machine either.

    anyone know for sure?

    I see no reason why it wouldn't work. Just get a Fedora Live CD and try it out. Live CDs let you try out an operating system without installing it.

    HP is very Linux friendly for a computer maker. In Europe, they do (or did when I heard about it) offer Linux laptops. They have also donated to open source projects in the past.

    They will also run ubuntu and other distros that I've tried as well.

    Just to make sure you don't want any QPlay update on your system any more. The GRUB master boot sector will conflict with any QPDP reinstallation. If it is already there, then it will be fine. But if you want to reinstall it, then you end up with reinstall everything.

    I just did it, and doing it right now. Well, I have to say I have no choice but do a clean XP Pro install w/o blowares. But I have no fun with reinstall OS.
