i have bought my little brother studying 4th ,a laptop hp compaq v3000z
i doubt wether it runs win7,i havnt even tested win vista on it....thats y i am asking u guyzz...the specs are

My mom's Pentium 4 3.6GHz can run it. And it runs pretty well too. But that P4 does have 1GB RAM.
The 512MB of RAM is going to be your worst limitation, it's going to install and run but it's not going to be quite optimal. DDR2 RAM is cheap, you can get 2x 1GB for under $100, and then you'll be able to run it in optimal conditions. Also if you can, get the 64-bit version. Your CPU supports it and it'll run better than the 32-bit one.
I repeat, there is no excuse to NOT upgrade the RAM. Do it and be happy with Windows 7. -
can anyone help me withlinks to the drivers for vista and win 7 for v3000

HP has Vista drivers available for the v3000z on their support site. Most of those drivers work fine for Win 7 as well. The Nvidia graphics drivers on HP's site are outdated and HP wont update them but check out laptopvideo2go.com for the most recent nvidia drivers. Remember to use the modified inf(see lv2go site for installation instructions)

up the ram to 1 gb or higher and it will work very well on that little machine. the Stock install Nvidia drivers work well on the go 6150
