Does yours have the Intel GMA integrated card, or do you have a dedicated nvidia card?

Go to the "HP Support & Drivers" site http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html. Enter your Laptop model and then from the software list select the video driver from the VISTA (64bit) driver list. It will work for W7.

What he said. I'm surprised Windows Update didn't install a driver for you though.

You shouldn't use Windows Update to install drivers anyway. As said above, the Vista driver will work fine.

Windows Update works for SOME drivers. But others, they will screw up your system so be warned.
As for the video driver, the drivers from Vista x64 will work for Windows 7 x64. But some companies have published video drivers for Windows 7. Check the website for your graphics card to see if they have one for it. Hope that helps.
