not sure if it would matter, but it seems that you are in "ControlSet001" instead of "CurrentControlSet"
did you restart your computer? -
yes i restarted my computer and i am 100% sure i was in CurrentControlSet i checked it several times.
you can see i have attached the pic of registry which in bottom shows the full path.
Thanks -
rishi104, 0015 might not be the only key containing IDT settings. Try searching on from that number to see if other branches exist and add the entiries to those branches.
-
Note that I've only tested my method with the modified IDT drivers linked to in this thread (to fix the mute light).
-
Would u mind to explain what this qlb acronim stands for?
Also i have a problem with registry, i successfully added the settings to registry, but after i restart my notebook those settings are gone. So all in all i still have not fixed the red light Mute button. -
Quick Launch Buttons.

I am trying to fix my famous orange light
could somebody enlighten me about this step
2. Find CLSID of your audio driver in your XP system:
Is that a file ? a regestry entry? where is it located?
thanks for input -
roby22, for the mute problem, we are using this modified package see page 39, thread #387 by roamin (modified IDT audio driver).
Read muchas thread on page 36, thread 354 to find the correct location in the registry for your IDT driver. -
I have hard time following the instructions.
under 2. find CLSID
is it a regestry file or a file on the computer?
3. how to create the reg file and where?
4. path how to modd the path??
could somebody explain them a bit more in detail ?
thanks -
Follow these steps:
Make sure we have the same IDT audio driver
1. Uninstall your existing IDT Audio drivers
2. Download the modified IDT audio driver in thread #387 by roamin
3. Unzip and install this IDT Audio driver.
Find the CLSID by:
1. Run "regedit"
2. Search for "AllowHpOnNonSupportingPin".
- Remember founded registry path like as HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{xxx}\00yy\Settings
- take note of {xxx} and 00yy
3. Start notepad and copy the reg file provided by muchas on page 36 thread 354.
4. Replace the {xxx} and 00yy in the reg file with what is obtained in step 2.
5. Save the file eg. name it mute.reg
Post again once you reached this step. -
hello friends, i have use the same modified IDT package page 39, thread #387 and i have use the same path as described earlier but it is still not working .hp 1102tu model.Pics attached.I have attached the .reg file which i inserted in registry i have replaced it with .txt cause .reg was not attaching in the attachments plz rename it to mute.reg.

it is working now
thanks -
rishi, the screenshot is showing "controlset001" and not "currentcontrolset".
roby, good to know it is working now -
-
rishi, you appear to have edited the reg file correctly. The only thing I can think of that in the screen shot where you identified the correct {yyy} and {xxx} codes, you are in CurrentControlSet001; The instructions state you must be n CurrentControlSet. Do a search for the HP key as mentioned. When you find it, check where you are. If in 001, search agan. It's possible there is more than one instance of this search term in the registry, one in CCSet and one in CCSet001 and possibly elsewhere. You might find the {yyy} and {xxx} values for CCSet are different than for CCSet001....
That's my best guess as to why it doesn't work. -
can someone help me and upload all the working driver for HP DV5 1070ee
help the poor me ? -
-
you can download all drivers from hpdv5.altervista.org
and fingerprint software from http://rapidshare.com/files/177827884/dpersona-pack.7z -
rishi, if that mute.txt is taken straight from your current registry , it will not work, because you didn't add the keys to it.
You are suppose to create your own mute.reg with the keys as shown in muchas post. Right now it looks like this :
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0015\Settings]
"TraceFlags"=dword:000089b3
"DisableMicBalance"=hex:00
"AllowHpOnNonSupportingPin"=hex:01
When it should look like this :
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\00yy\Settings]
"Installed"=hex:01
"CPL_SaveExtraPower"=hex:01
"CPL_SecondsAfter"=dword:00000010
"CPL_MaySwitchExtAmpPowerState"=hex:01
"AfgPowerStatePolicy"=hex:02
"CPL_ControlAfgPowerState"=hex:01
"CPL_SpdifTransmitterEnabledByUser"=hex:00
"CPL_FixedDigitalOutRate"=dword:00000000
"PmEnabledWidget"=hex:0a,0b,0c,0d,0e,0f
"EnablePcBeepAtCd"=hex:01
"PlaybackCaptureAssociations"=hex:51
"KeepAnalogLoopbackAlwaysOn"=hex:01
"DelayInMsAfterPortDisabling"=dword:00000040
I have attached a picture of my registry (just the control set part) and also i changed your mute.txt to rishimute.txt that you just need to rename back to .reg ,double click and "merge" and if your sound drivers are correctly installed it will work after a reboot. If it doesn't then its your sound drivers.
I seems we mostly have the same class ID.Attached Files:

Hi guys
anyone know about driver for the wireless of dv5t 1000? I try to download all of recommended driver from 1st page it Intel 801 PRO but did not work. I did try Broadcom but the same issue. Don't know what driver it can work with, any of you have the same prob? if yes, can you give me the download driver link? I'm stuck with my network cable T_T -
Hi, I have HP dv5-1116em with Vista, I install XP on it with all drivers but Broadcom 802.11 b/g WLAN didn't work, it's still disable on quick lunch tray (RED) and never be enable there.. so please help to resolve that. RG
-
I should have a 802.11b/g wireless network device showing up but Device Manager doesn't recognize it and I get an error message when I attempt to install the driver via the wireless software from Intel. The software seems to install fine but it tells me the driver did not. If I try to install the driver by itself I get no message and still no WiFi.
I tried clicking on mystery devices in the Device Manager and clicked on update driver and I got one to fess up to being Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN. It now displays under Network Adapters but it has an exclamation symbol on it and when I click on properties it says that it could not load the driver and it may be corrupt or missing.
Anyone know what's going on here? Thanks! -

Hopfully that solves your problem.. let me know!

Thanks for the help dannyres,
I take it that part of my problem is that I have a Broadcom wireless adapter rather than the Intel adapter. I tried the Vista driver referenced in your DV5T Driver thread but unfortunately the driver won't install. "The operating system is not supported. The software will not be installed. "
I guess I need an XP compatible Broadcom Wireless driver. -
OK - for those with the Broadcom 802.11 b/g WLAN adapter -
This driver seems to work for me.
It's from this page on the HP website.
dannyres - It's not technically a latest driver for the HP DV5T but perhaps you can include it on your list until something newer comes along.
joshua wood - Perhaps you could also include this link in your first post write-up.
Thanks to joshua wood, dannyres and all the contributors for your work on building these resources. I know a lot of people out there like me really appreciate the help. -

Since its confirmed to be working I've added it to the list!Glad you've got it working now!

Would one of you fellas with XP be able to test this driver for IDT High Def Audio:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp41501-42000/sp41610.exe
It's version 5.10.6087.0, but official from HP this time. I'm wanting to know if it fixes the issues that required registry modification (mute button, stereo mix) so if you do try it would you be able to undo the registry changes first?
Thanks! -
I hadn't monkeyed with audio yet so I tried the driver linked above but after installing I have no audio. YMMV System restore - here I come.
-
-
I did not change the registry setting.
After intalled, No sound came out, even after reboot. -
-
Post 1 updated with Broadcom WLAN info
-
When I installed the above audio driver, I have uninstalled the the old idt high definition audio in the device manager. -

I have read part of this thread but if you, or any forum member, could give me confirmation regarding the following I will spend the time to fully read this thread, this assumes it is discussed in this thread.
NOTE: This laptop has version F11 of the BIOS.
I have an HP dv5t-1000 Entertainment laptop with WinBlows Vista 64bit premium factory installed on the INTERNAL sata hard drive. I would like to install and boot from Winblows XP 32 bit Professional installed onto an EXTERNALLY attached ESATA hard drive. This should allow be to choose witch physical drive to boot from, ie.. Vista INTERNAL SATA or XP EXTERNAL ESATA. Since booting Winblows XP 32 bit version from a usb attached hard drive is not officially supported, I would assume booting XP from an external ESATA port should work? Note booting XP from an externally attached USB hard drive can be down with several registry hacks but is limited due to the fact that a paging file is not supported. When I attach a hard drive with an NTFS file system to the EXTERNAL ESATA port on this laptop, the BIOS doesn't recognize that it is attached; however, both Vista and Linux see the drive after booting. I checked out all the BIOS options and could not find any mode where an ESATA attached hard drives could be recognized at the BIOS level.
The following is an FYI from one of my posts to another forum:
AFAIK the following is true, please feel free to comment or correct any errors.
The BIOS will not allow booting from an externally attached CD/DVD/Hard Drive installed in a Firewire enclosure ( Not surprising but sure would be nice!)
The BIOS will not allow booting from an externally attached CD/DVD via a USB to IDE adapter. (My 4 year old Compaq supported this) If supported, would saves wear and tear on the internal CD/DVD burner Blueray player.
The BIOS will not allow booting from a bootable device inserted into the SD card slot. I boot and run Puppy Linux from an SD card on my ASUS $300 Netbook. Would be nice to do the same on this $1200 laptop!!!
Will boot from the internal drive and CD/DVD.
The BIOS will allow booting from an externally attached bootable hard drive via a USB to IDE adapter.
The BIOS does not support the ATA security specification at all. In fact, the BIOS doesn't issue the drive security freeze command before passing the batton over to the operationing system.
Please see the following document regarding the ATA security features
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1376364/posts
Bottom line the BIOS on my HP DV5t-1000 laptop appears to be quite limited, not what I would expect on a fairly high-end laptop from a major brand name.
Thanks Very Much for Your Time and feedback regarding ANY of the issues in this post will be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Ron
My little ASUS EEE, except for booting from a Firewire/esata external devices, supports and does all of the above quite nicely..

ok,now I tried your IDT audio dude, like every one, no sound came out after reboot. I notice a alert that the software or hardware can not be started. Error code 10 or something.
-
Has anyone been successful with the eSATA on the dv5t, either under vista or XP? Or am I doing something incorrectly. -
There seems to be some issues with eSATA. I'm not sure, but I think it worked for some. Perhaps try and find some different drivers or such. Let us know if you have any luck.
I don't know about booting from eSATA, but I'm pretty sure the dv5t can boot from USB (stick, dunno about HDD). I haven't tested or checked this info however. -
i'm not too sure if anyone has indeed succeeded in getting the sSATA to work. I'm using "Rock HD1-SU2S2" with a WDC 500BEVT, but it is not detected by the BIOS.
windows xp on dv5t - all drivers installed
