Hello everyone.
I just bought in January 2008 a HP pavilion dv2713tx with Windows Vista preinstalled. I wanted to install Windows XP. After I included the SATA drivers for Intel ICH8 on the CD (with nLite), I booted up.
After it loaded all the drivers, the setup went BSOD saying that I don't have a fully compliant ACPI BIOS. My BIOS version is F.21 which is the latest BIOS version for this model. I skipped ACPI detection with F7 and succeeded to install XP, but WinXP doesn't recognize my battery and the fan keeps spinning all the time.
Are there any drivers or something for WinXP that will allow to install, even if the BIOS is not fully ACPI compliant? Because other operating systems are installing, like Vista and Linux Ubuntu.
Thank you very much for all your help.

did you read the part of the guide where you install drivers??
that might help -
What guide and what drivers? Can you be more specific? I wasn't able to find any ACPI drivers.

hey...jus for ur info...all HP laptops are preconfigured as well as pre installed with Vista, something what Dell is trying to implement too, this is because they somehow wanna publicized and push vista to more consumers...and HP laptops DO NOT provide drivers for XP.I hv a fren who bot a freedos Laptop and tried putting in XP but couldn't locate the sound and graphic driver..For more info pls visit HP official website and there's a link somewhere which says that problem that you will face if u downgrade ur vista to XP version..Thanks..
