    wireless adaptor wont turn on dv9000t

    hey guys, well i cant get my wireless adaptor to turn on! i have a dv9000t. the light just stays orange all the time. it worked earlier today and i installed windows updates, and now it wont work...any ideas? thanks!!

    This may be stupid, but the light is usually orange when you have the switch off. Have you tried moving the switch to the right?

    lol yeah i should have added that. it stays orange in both positions. and when i move it to the right it says wireless adaptor disabled in the bottom right of screen

    I had a similar problem. My wireless seemed to stay disabled, but would intermittently work. My suggestion is to call tech support, and you'll probably need a new wireless card.

    Also, is it a new system? Did the wireless work ever since you've had it?

    its realitivly new. but the wireless worked the other day then i installed windows updates and it stopped. i called hp tech support and got some indian guy and hung up on him. i cant stand that, we pay all this money for computers and support services and i gotta speak with some guy i cant understand. imo thats really lame on hp's part.

    Tech support determined that it was a bad card, but because I was still on my 21 day return period, they had me return the whole laptop and get a new one. The new one worked much better.

    BTW: all of the tech support is in India, so you will have to deal with them. Some have better English than others though.

    try going into network connections and right click on the wireless connection. If there is an option to enable it then choose that. Otherwise choose disable then right click it and enable it and see if that works.
