    Hey all,

    I've been having problems playing games with my zd7000. About 10 minutes into gameplay, the display will start skipping pixels, which suggests overheating. Has anyone else had this problem? HP support claimed that they couldn't help me out beyond telling me to get a cooling pad or propping the notebook up. Should this be necessary? Is anyone else having this problem? Thanks.

    See if you can find a program that lets you chart the temperature. That would let you know for sure. Are you past your return date? Do you have a warranty? If you are willing to get inside the computer, you could replace the thermal pads with copper and thermal compound. There is a guide linked to in the modding section about this as well. See signature for the results I got.

    Completed mods:
    GPU cooling (100°C->75°C)
    Mods in progress:
    8600c to 8600 keyboard swap (to get the eraser head).
    Tweaks: Radeon 9600 pro (337/242) at 400/300

    This may be related to the class action lawsuit that covers certain HP zd7000 systems. The class action lawsuit was started due to the system's inability to dissipate the heat from a faulty video graphics card.

    Please quickly read the below information. If you have a model that pertains to the information below, then you should definately visit this link:
