i've read recently that the new hp zd8000 will feature a Radeon Mobility X600. Is that really true? If it is, thats great, but is it as good as all the new gf6800s that are coming out on alienwares and sagers? (i wouldnt think so, since it is only a x600, not an x800) what would you rather have, the 8000 or the sager or the alienware 7700

I did some research on the net, and I think that the mobility x600 is not nearly as good as the gf6800. Not even close. I haven't seen these cards in action myself though. I wrote to hp to ask them to include the option to have the zd8000 come with the gf6800 but I didn't receive a reply yet. Maybe if more people wrote they would do something. I don't know if it's possible though to include this option.

Yes, the X600 is included. The problem with including the gf6800 is that it'd be a really expensive options as that's the latest technology. I think it'll be next Spring before we see mainstream notebook mfrs (dell, hp, toshi...) including this gpu in any laptop. look to alienware or or sager to push the envelope with the latest gpus.
