My wife has a zd8000 with Vista installed, and the machine has been having problems connecting wireless when it's not really close to the wireless router.

The router is upstairs, and if she uses it up there, it works great. If she brings it downstairs, the signal strength is still EXCELLENT (?), but her internet connection is very slow, if non-existant.

I went out and bought a PCMCIA Linksys G w/Speedboost wireless card, thinking maybe the Broadcom unit was bad, or the driver was bad, and it does the same thing with the linksys card in and the broadcom disabled.

My dv9000 works fine downstairs, always did, but hers just works like crap, even though the signal strength is high.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    THANKS

How about a router firmware upgrade and/or driver update.

I have not checked to see if there is a firmware upgrade for the router. I'll do that today. I have tried mulitple channels (6, then 11, then 1) with pretty much the same results.
