Can WPA Authentication [for wireless networking] be available on the ze5475ca laptop? I tried updating the drivers for it, but it didn't work, maybe i was doing something wrong. Does anybody if I can get WPA to work on this thing?

Since this is an older HP model, it's possible there's no WPA support for this card. If after updating the drivers and no luck, you may want to try going to the Microsoft site and installing the WPA update (should be located in the updates section). If this doesn't work, that means that you can't support WPA until new drivers are written for your card that supports WPA. Also, your wireless router must also support WPA and all connected systems via wireless must also support WPA. Systems that don't support WPA will not be able to connect to the network.

Well, my router does support WPA, that's for sure. I can enable if I want to. And some of the newer devices on my other computers support it as well. Im running XP with SP2 and all the necessary patched to date. Do I still need to install the WPA patch?

No, if you have SP2 already installed, it should be included. That just means that the drivers for the WiFi card just don't support WPA. There's gonna be no way for you to support it on the on-board WiFi card in your notebook until WPA supported drivers get released, which is doubtful. This is an older model that HP has or will discontinue, so it doesn't look like there will be any further driver releases (unless to fix a problem, but that gets less likely after it gets discontinued). You're just gonna have to get a new card that supports WPA, either internal (if you can find a compatible card) or a PCMCIA/USB adapter.
