I left for work this morning having customized a zt3000 on hpshopping.com, and had decided to wait until after work to go ahead and make the purchase. I got home and went to the website to make the purchase, and found out that hp had discontinued that model!!! I'm curious as to why they did this...does anyone know? Are they planning on coming out with a similar, improved model? After calling customer support, the lady seemed to have no clue...and told me that the zt3000 had been replaced by the dv1000. I was really disappointed, because while it still had the Pentium M and some good features, seemed to lack some of the great options available in the zt3000 (especially screen size). Well, anyways...just doing some venting, and curious to know if anyone knows if hp is coming out with something new soon that is comparable. Thanks!

we've sent an email to HP PR people but they haven't replied to us. My guess is you'll see an update/replacement to the zt3000 at some point next week, likely the 19th when Intel announces its new chip. It's odd that HP would pull a product before that time though, likely they ran out of components to build this laptop and don't want to order more parts due to a new laptop being in the pipe for next week. Just hold on and see!

Well, that's encouraging...I think that may be a wise move. I'm not in any hurry. Thanks for the quick reply!

Well, I don't know. I currently own the HP Pavilion zt3340 and it runs great and for the past few months, I've had no issues with it. Has anyone heard about problems with this model? I'm merely curious so that I can identify any issues arising at the first sign. :) Thanks!

Also, does anyone know why HP is discontinuing it? will support for it grow more and more limited for the laptop once it is discontinued?

I saw one on sale at Compusa a couple of weeks ago but when I went to the store they were sold out...
