My unfortunate zt3000 experience continues with the second one too.

When I close the lid(screen) computer hibernates. Then, when I open the screen and windows start, the USB mouse cannot be recognized(the pointer does not move and buttons don't work either) however the lazer in the mouse works(so there is power but it does not work). I can solve the problem by unplugging it and plugging again. yet, it is inconvenient! (I had the same issue with toshiba laptop too)

There is another problem that I realized for the first time today: Mouse cannot be recognized even unplugging and plugging many times(mouse receives power though).

So it seems to me that these are software(OS) problems. What do you think? Has anyone experienced similar problems? How can I solve these issues?

Try configuring your notebook to Suspend (to RAM) instead of Hibernate and see if that helps. Unchecking "Enable hibernation" in the Hibernate tab of Power Options in your Control Panel should do the trick. I have never liked Hibernate mode. I use a Bluetooth mouse so I wouldn't have run across your mouse problem.

    kapon,

I don't think this is a problem with your system. This may be a problem with XP itself. I believe there have been reported problems when returning from Hibernation/Stand By. Check to see if there are any issues on the Microsoft site.
Another thing you can try is to get a BIOS update for your notebook or even updated drivers for the chipset.

I believe there is a windows patch to fix that issue. Get your windows updates.
