Can anybody help me determine the diference between the zt3000, x1000 and nx7000 series laptops? I know the zt3000 looks different, but what about quality, driver/component versions/revisions. And is which order did these models appear? Any info would be greatly apreciated.

The nx7000 came first. I think the next two came out at about the same time. They will probably all have almost identical construction and reliablity since they are most likely all built on the same line with only a few cosmetic diffeneces being the main differneces, not counting customization.
At the moment the zt3000 is the cheapest, 100.00 mail in rebate, 90.00 instant rebate, and then you have the possiblity of an educaitonal discount on top of that and another 10% off with the current coupon. -
Thanks Quikster
Unfortunately all those discounts and rebates dont apply in Australia. And we cant even customise our machines being limited to one or two versions per series so they are all basically speced the same.
Why wont HP America deliver to the land of OZ? *sigh* -
Narna,
I'm located here in Canada & I used to have the NX7000. The NX7000 & Presario X1000 & Pavilion ZT3000 are identical other than CPU power (1.6Ghz max on NX7000 & 1.4/1.5Ghz on X1000 & 1.4-1.7Ghz on ZT3000). I guess HP just wanted a unit in most of their lines, HP consumer (Pavilion), Compaq consumer (Presario) & HP Business (NX Series). They all use the same mainboard I believe since the design is identical except for the colour of the unit.
The NX7000 & X1000 series came out at the same time, but then again, the X1000 may have just beat out the NX7000 by a few weeks (no stock on the NX7000 when I ordered mine direct from HP, but X1000 in stock). The ZT3000 units came last, I believe approx. a few months ago.
I liked my NX7000, the quality of the build was good, but I think they could have used better plastics, but generally it was good.
I hope this helps you with your decision.
