Well when I first started hearing it, I thought it was my cdrom drive spinning. It seems to happen every few mins, and most of the time causes a couple second freeze up. I realize now it is my harddrive spinning.....is it normal to be able to hear this? Also, anyone else have a couple second lockup every few mins?

The drive installed is a 60gig 5400 upgrade done by hp. (incase this helps)

If your touchpad is turned off, this could cause the momentary freeze you're seeing. Check www.r3000forums.com for a thread on this topic. It may be here as well, but I don't frequent this forum as much.
