Has anybody tried updating their BIOS to version F35 yet? It's supposed to fix a incorrect clock speed reporting, but after looking at the properties of my computer, it still shows it incorrectly (at 350 MHZ too  ). Also, does anybody know ithis revision adds support for Turion processors? Turion + 12 cell battery would equal 6 hours or more battery life.

Actually it fixed the clock speed issue for me too. I thought the My Computer properties window could dynamically update the speed like Mobilemeter but I guess it can't.

Hello, I am new here to the forums.

I have an HP Pavilion zv5000z as well, but I do not bother to upgrade the BIOS, becuase last time I did (attempted to go to F30), it froze in the middle, I ruined my motherboard, and I had to send it to HP to get fixed.

Well, try this. I think that perhaps the AMD PowerNOW technology is kicking in, automatically adjusting the CPU speed/voltage. This is a feature of the later BIOS (F24 and on).
So, Go to Control Panel>Power Options>and put it on "Home/Office Desk". This will make the computer run at maximum speed (when plugged in). Then see what your clock speed is.
Mine shows the clock speed correctly at 2200MHz (outlet) or 800MHz (battery). Perhaps it's due to the fact that I have an older BIOS.

Is it worth upgrading to a later BIOS?

Not really. I thought the new BIOS added Turion support but I guess it doesn't. Just being able to see the correct clock speed isn't worth the time and risk it takes to upgrade the BIOS. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
