    zv5000z Wireless button broken / stuck

    The wireless button seems to be stuck down or broken; no light, no net (except by cable from my router). Any history on these?

    Try taking off the bezel and clean out the dust/crumbs/etc that are likely getting in the way of the button. Unplug, remove the battery, remove the four screws on the bottom back edge of the notebook, then gently pry the bezel off (it will take a bit of force).

    That's the disadvantage of being a customer of such a multinational as HP. This problem would take what, 5 minutes for a technician to fix and yet if you go to HP they'll probably ship it across the ocean.
    Be careful with static electricity when you open up the notebook. Use a non-metal screw driver if you have one
