    zv6000 - Consumer IR

    I've been told my laptop has a Consumer IR port (and i can see it between the volume buttons), and I'd like to use them with a remote control.

    I have an HP zv6000, running x86_64 Debian GNU/Linux :D

    any luck with this yet? Im trying to figure out how to use my HP remote control I just got with the infrared receiver on my zv6000.

    It is RC6 IR which is not full consumer IR. It has a limited function set to control media playback and thats about it.
