They are Harmon-Kardon speakers, very good quality, above average laptop speakers. Most people should be happy with them.

I'm happpy to know that..since I've used HP laptops before (ZX5000 and ZV5000) and they've come with the H/K speakers, which I'm very happy with. the only reason I asked was because Costco.com listed "internal speakers" rather than H/K speakers.

I don't believe they are H/K. They don't sound as good as the JBL on my R3000Z and I've heard HKs are better than JBLs.

Yep, there's gotta be a good reason why the actual notebooks no longer have "Harmon Kardon" written across them & the sites all list them as internal speakers (very vague/ambiguous)...Who knows who made these speakers...

I just think about is it possible to replace the speakers of ZV6000 with those of ZV5000Z.
If and only if they have the same form factor and interface ...

well, if it is possible ... I would be grad to replace it, but ... I have to wait for my ZV6000 first...

Waiting for my ZV6000 from Costco:
    AMD Athlon 64 3200+
    2GB RAM, 128MB GPU,5K80+7K60
    8x DVD+/-RW, wifi+blue

The ZV6000 speakers are just average. Nowhere near the sound quality of Harmon-Kardon. I wonder if we can get the HKs from HP. Maybe we can set up a group buy if we can get enough people interested. HP is going cheap on us.
