I have had my zx5000 for a little over a year now, and the battey is completely dead. My laptop doesn't even work unless it's plugged in. Do you guys have any thoughts on this. The battery charge light just blinks, but doesn't charge it. I'm pretty sure I just need to replace it. I tried to get one on-line and it was slighly different but work. Except when starting up my laptop told me it wasn't the correct battery. Do you guys know where I can get a cheap battery for my hp.
    Thanks

If you still warranty remaining on your notebook, HP should replace your battery free of charge, as it was obviously defective.

Other than that, what price range are you looking for in your new battery? HP's might be more expensive, but you can have peace of mind knowing that it will work with your notebook.

Here's a link to HP's website for their batteries:

Sadly it is 3 months out of warranty. Funny how that happens isn't it.
    Thanks
