I'm just trying to find out if anyone with these models and a system with 2 sticks of ram the same size are getting dual channel performance. I contacted HP e-mail support they told me that the computer would support dual channel memory but I'd like to know if anyone has actully tested there's to see its working and if so, is it providing a nice gain in performance? I'm trying to decide how much ram to put in my extra slot currently I have 512, I like to add another 512 if its going to enable dual channel. That way I get a nice boost and its not to expensive like adding a 1024 stick. I also ran the SiSoftware Sandra Standard program and benchmarked the ram it only got a 38% on effiecney and I'm not the only one I've posted with another about this and I guess its just how the system's run. I'm hoping to increase that with dual channel. Correct me if I'm wrong but right now I have a 800MHz FSB and my ram speed is PC2700 (333MHz) so with dual channel my memory speed would go to 2 X 333MHz = 666MHz correct? Then I would be much closer to using the 800MHz bus speed my system can support. I really don't know but I think this would help out a lot. Please let me know what you think.

Dagreek i have a Gig of ram and when a ran the bench and looked at the Chipset properties Sandra says this mainboard/memory has a bandwidth throughput of 6400mb's a second, and its running at 38% effiecy that means only 2300mb's a second throughput we need to find a way to crank it up to the full 6400mb's a second throughput. the Chipset is made by ATI/intel so maybe they have Info i think it is based on Intel's 855 Chipset.

the software I've used to find out what kinda motherboard we have says its a ATI Radeon 9100 IGP

Sandra gave me the same info we need to find a way to crank up the max throughput of the mainboard/memory.

well I don't even know what is slowing it down so bad, its not like we can change anything in the BIOS is your 1024 ram one stick or 2? if its 2 can you tell if your getting dual channel using sandra software?

i have 2x 512 sticks it doesnt seem like its running in Dual channel becuase its not eve n close to its peek Bandwidth throughput, only 2300mb's the max is 6400. Dont you think thats a big veration?.

how can the effiecy be improved? im guessing it cant?

I looked up the chipset on the ATI website and it says it supports dual channel. Tech support for HP also told me it dose, they told me that all you have to do is put in the second stick and it will enable its self.
