uhhh ... where to start ...
i was doing a clean re-install of windows xp pro on my zx5000, and i did a reformat, and when it got to 100% i got a blue screen error saying windows was unable to format the drive and then my hard drive started making clicking noises. it sorta just sat there doing nothing making clicking noises, so i restarted and now it says i have no hard drive to install windows onto. kinda lost and unsure how to install hard drive drivers. if anyone knows of or has heard of this type of problem, let me know whats goin on and how to solve it ! thanks in advance.

    oh yea ...

    Jiindok,

The drive is toast as Goga indicated. The only reason why a drive will click like this is if it's dead/very close to being completely dead.

This might be a waste of time and money, but if you want, you can try the HDD in a different computer or buy an external USB enclosure and connect your HDD into it and plug it into your desktop. If it works, it could be your notebook, if not (which I don't think it will), means the drive is dead.

Just get yourself a new drive or send it in for warranty service if your notebook is still under warranty.
