    zx5000 or Dell's 9100

I have two issues to discuss.

I've been debating switching over from my Dell Inspiron to the HP ZD7000. But, after seeing the ZX5000 on HP's website, I think that one is more for me. However, the ZD7000 has been getting great reviews (editor's choice form several magazines), but I'm finding nothing at all about the ZX5000. But, after comparing the two systems, they seem to be identical except for screen size and that the larger unit has more movie editing goodies (which I don't need.) I'm a professional webmaster who lives/traves in many countries and requires a serious computer with excellent viewing and power. So, I'm seeking some reassurance on the ZX5000. A positive review on the ZX5000 from a computer magazine would be helpful.

As for my issue with Dell, I'd stick with them if they would only make their laptops more sturdy (my Inspiron 4000 screen mounts have snapped off twice, and the USB port on the back was anchored to the motherboard only and not the casing, which broke off within months.) Their new Inspiron 9100 looks like the computer I'm looking for (they got great reviews too), but I'm afraid that they may not have effectively delt with their screen mount/hing and USB port issues. Could anyone shed some light on these matters?

I am also looking between the Dell 9100 and the zx5000/zv5000z
I have the same requirements ( need power and the best display possible ).
I noticed on the hpshopping.com site, they just added the Athlon 64 3400 to the list - hmmmmm, very very tempting. but the zx5000 seems to blow a lot of hot air - but it has the 1900x1200 res....

The ZX5000 does not blow as much hot air as others have indicated.I use mine with shorts on and can handle the warming even when gaming.

I had a zd7000 with a 3.06 Pentium. It blew warm or hot air continually.
I have a zv5000z with the 3200+. It is silent except when the processor is doing something like UT2004, when it blows warm air out the right side.

I would do anything but the 9100. You have to wonder when Dell stopped shipping units and refused to say why...

Does anyone have any experience with the docking station that HP provides? I just wish they had a simple port replicator - any suggestions ?
The one issue I have is that I can get 10% off the Dell, but i'll be full pop with HP. I also live in CA, so i'm looking at tax + i am not a student.
I guess when i'm dropping $2500+ for a machine i shouldn't trip over over a matter of a couple hundred bucks. I just want the best machine possible to replace my workstation.

I would recommend the zx5000, as this is the machine I have and I love it so far.
