Any of you with the zx5000 series have a problem with the power adapter? All of a sudden on mine sometimes the computer doesnt charge when its plugged in but when i fiddle around with the connector it shows it as charging, and then stops charging a few minutes later. Is this unusual? Thanks

I had the exact same problem, After about 6 months with my zx5190US the AC adapter started acting funny, couldn't charge the battery for a prolongued ammount of time, I had to disconnect and connect all the time just to charge it, because using it with the laptop on was hell. I just purchased a new ac adapter, and it acts the same way so I'm starting to think it is a problem with the laptop itself and not the power cord.

Please write back with any information you have found on this problem, or any possible fixes, or documentation on it. Thanks, I will do the same.

Have you looked to see if it is on ac power when it is plugged in but not charging?

Each time I plug mine in it shows it charging for a very short time but I rarely use the battery, just topping off the charge after several hours of no use I guess.

I just unplugged mine and it said 100% remaining after a very short charge.

Hi, I have the exact same problem with my ZV5169EA purchased from ebay a few months ago.
I was going to try a new AC power adapter but it sounds more like it is the motherboard causing the problem. This must be a known problem, does anyone have any more info regarding a fix or diagnosis? HP have reccomended a new AC adaptor so I may have to try that first, of course they would never admit a design fault as being the cause.

    Cheers.
