    Well,

I noticed that I have bezel separation, I thought this was issue only for X61T but I was wrong.

The hinge cover doesnt lay flat, parallel to the rest. Is this usual or another great example of quality control from Lenovo ?

I cant return this but I have one year warranty which aplies here in Europe, thank god ! I would have to send my tablet to one of a few Service Centers which dont seem to be that professional. This is just a regular notebook shop with repairman, nothing special (they still call thinkpad as ibms ... they arent familiar with lenovo). I dont think they would have parts on stock too. To be honest I wouldnt trust this guys, Im affraid that they would damage my mint tablet and I would have to trouble with them ... propably without success. Forgive me this but, dear American friends, we in Europe dont have that great customer support as you do, its almost impossible to call to Lenovo center ... Early in the morning when they had their work hours I was waiting and listening to stupid music for exactly 50mins, nobody answered my phone.

How about fixing it by myself ? X200T with Superbright screen has only one bezel, the front bottom one. It costs 35-75USD, depends if its with fingerprint reader or not.

I found a video here ( http://www.lenovoservicetraining.com/ion/X200T/index.html) with LCD dissembly and it looks like I would have to remove 7 screws and disconnect fingerprint reader and install the new bezel.

The question is: is my bezel broken, bend or screws werent attached properly or the worst ... the lcd case has not precisely routed hmm places for screws

    What do you think ?

Damn, my old, trusty X61s is prefect, no troubles, no dead pixel everything is perfect, its not even IBM lol. What about little bigger poor X200T guy ? :(

It's a little difficult to tell from your pics, but it looks like your bezel is warped. Mine most definitely is NOT. At most mine has a 1mm (probably far less) lip between the frameless border and the reinforced bezel on the sides and top but NONE near the bezel buttons; mine is also perfectly uniform.

You should probably call support and get it replaced that way. I don't believe the bezel is a CRU and you would likely void any warranty you have if you start messing around with it.

    What about hinge cover ?

You may want to see the video I made, you can see close ups of places where bezel meets display

I looked at the video you made. The hinge cover looked normal. The main difference was that the frameless writing surface on yours is a fair bit below the bezel at the bottom (mine is even), the spacing on yours also seems to be uneven. However, I don't know what the manufacturing tolerances are like so yours may technically be okay.

I had the same first impression as jonlumpkin. I read all about the bezel separation issue of the X61T when I was resersching my X200. It looks like your bezel isn't separating but is warped(bent) some how, like jonlumpkin said. Maybe there are cables underneath the bezel that aren't routed properly, or maybe the bezel itself is just bent? Did you notice this problem when you first got the machine or is this a recent development? Are you sure you can't contact Lenovo directly and ask them if there isn't a better(or at least some alternates) repair facility than the one you are looking at? I would do that.

Its impossible to get on phone with them. On their website here they talk about those repair shops, that if you have some issues and warranty I have to send to them the tablet.

Nothing changed really, this is how I had it straight from the box. It sat all the time in ultrabase or desk.

It's the weekend now. Are you sure there isn't some one you can call during the week to see about warranty advice about the bezel.

Note - I just checked the x200 Tablet Hardware Maintenance manual, the LCD & Bezel FRUs (pg. 155 & 161) are all listed as NOT CRU (Customer Replaceable Unit). As a result, replacing them yourself will probably void your warranty. Just something to consider.

I laugh in the face of your bezel issue! I eventually had a family of hedgehogs move into the bezel gap on my X61T.

I wasnt calling today or yesterday but few days ago at their early work hours. Lenovo Customer Support is a joke here. Without a problem I googled few topics on discussions forums about how is Lenovo support dissapointing.

I wouldnt prefer to give some cluless techie my tablet. Im sure I would do it more careful than him lol.

jonlumpkin you may want to see video service training with removal. You just have to remove few screws, disconnect fingerprint reader and reinstall new bezel. Thats easy, not harder then replacing rams I guess ;)

I hope that this lower front bezel is wraped ... or screws arent all along well screwed :D I mean I think that they used too much force in some ones so its pushed tight in few places.

Oh god, this is dissapointing ... this is really fresh unit, custom order 2 weeks waiting for shipping ... it even has new intel sticker lol

Somebody screwed up assembly or bezel was bend since new or something... I hope, pray that there isnt issue with LCD case, that screw holes are misalinged or somethin ...

    lol :p

but you can them all the time in america on the phone etc, I can only cry a river here lol.

So it seems like Lenovo didnt learn on their own mistakes how to assembly properly units and do serious quality control ...

I tell you guys, If I had to send them for repair here it would take hell long, when they had it, they would say that I have to wait because they dont have part on stock, than after long wait and propably something extra broken by them recived back. And keep fighting again and loose money on shpping ...

Im not that qualified to replaced lcd or something but removing 7 screws and disconnecting a connector for fingerprint reader isnt that big stuff

Getting this worked up over a minor warping of the bezel does you no good.

Getting worked up by itself doesn't do the situation any good, but calling Lenovo about your problem might :)
