    I'm looking to get a larger SSD to replace my 64GB SSD (specifically, Samsung MCCOE64G8MPP-0VA).. and clean install a Windows 7 over it.

    I don't keep up with SSD so I don't have whole lot of ideas...

    I prefer Samsung branded SSD.

    I was looking at Samsung 470 Series 128GB.. looks like new product goes for $150-170ish at cheapest and used one can be found for little under $100.

    Would it be okay to get an used SSD?

    Is 470 series compatible with X200 and would I see significant improvement over MCCOE64G8MPP-0VA?

    I don't want to spend over $200 and this seems like a good option because I was looking to get a 64GB SD card to so along with SSD drive.. but considering its price, I thought it may be better to replace a SSD drive.

    Thanks!! :D

    I say get a mSATA drive, then a platter drive drive for the main bay. That gets you speed on the SSD and space on the platter drive. It's the best of both world.

    Doesn't the OP have an X200, which unfortunately doesn't have the capability to take an mSATA?

    That said, both the SSDs in my systems were used and I've had absolutely no problems. My G73 is running a 160GB Intel X25-M G1 that I bought back in May, and my T500 is running a Lenovo-branded 1.8" Samsung FDE SSD that I bought around the same time. The seller didn't know what he was selling and claimed it didn't work with anything but Lenovo notebooks so he let it go to me for next to nothing, but I paid around $200 for the Intel drive. Both were definitely worthwhile investments.

    OP;

    You already have a thread in SSD subforum. Please don't crosspost, it is poor forum etiquette as well as against forum rules.

    It seem you better read me.

    Being that it's the X200, the Momentus XT might be worth a look too. Once it learns you patterns, it gives near SSD performance and you've still got plently of space left over. When I had my X200 and 80GB Intel SSD, I didn't like having most of my files on the external.
