I picked up X200 ultrabase for $5 (with AC adapter and DVD-ROM) and the seller shipped it via UPS 2nd day :D

I looked up online for manuals and watched some YouTube unboxing video but if I understood correctly, is it only possible to add one component, say if I already have DVD-ROM, I can't add a SATA HD adapter..? No one seems to talk about SATA adapter slot so I'm bit confused..

So I'm guessing there's only one slot to do it all.. or do I have to unscrew something and it's hidden?

    Thanks!

You can add a DVD-ROM or hard drive caddy, but not both at the same time. There's only one bay. There's an eject mechanism. You don't need to unscrew it.

Hope that you didn't get that for a new x230 or older x220--they are not compatible. You need the ultrabase 3 for the newer x-series

I have x200. It seems to work fine. I only checked the power (AC) and DVD-ROM, but it seems to charge and DVD seems to run fine.

    Hi strangesweet remember me???

    :)

If you do not mind me asking where did you find your ultrabase for $5?! I could use an ultrabase for my X200 as well.

Oh yes! I remember you! :D

My laptop is running really quiet ever since you taught me how to replace the part.

I got it off eBay. Maybe because the ending bid time was late?? I know.. it was quite surprised that no one really tried to bid because I've been looking for one awhile and it seemed to go for $40~50+..

And plus the seller shipped via UPS 2nd day (Ultrabase is pretty heavy + AC adapter).. so I don't know what exactly happened.. but I also notice he also sold 6-cell X200 battery for 99 cents + free shipping (forgot to bid)..

Pretty happy though. I want to upgrade DVD-ROM with DVD-RW or SATA adapter but I would also have to get rid of DVD-ROM first so I don't know yet.
