    [SL410] Unknown serial number???

    Hi everybody,

    I have bought a ThinkPad SL410 from a local store. I found it very strange that I couldn't check the warranty status of my machine at Lenovo website. Everytime I typed in the serial number, I got the message: "Information for Warranty was not found. Please click back and try again or you may navigate clicking on 'Warranty'."

    Another strange thing is that, when I downloaded the drivers for the machine, its type (2842-7RA) didn't appear in the suggestion list.

    I have asked the seller but he also said that he doesn't know why. So is this an error from the Lenovo's website? Please help me to clarify this.

    not all systems are listed on the support site.   you may have to call support to get warranty info and register your product so you receive the full length of your warranty.

    did you buy this in malaysia?   if so, the local number for support is 1-800-88-1889.
