did anyone with the ATi 3470 on the t400 with windows 7 64bit have problems with the new 9.6 win7 drivers?

they install fine and run great until i restart or shut down, on the next boot itll just freeze at start up with the loading mouse icon.

i tried running the setup as admin, and it didnt work, i then tried it in safe mode and that didnt work either.

so i had to rollback the driver for now... anyone else having this problem?

I haven’t tried ATI’s latest stuff. Then again, the difference in driver versions between the Catalyst Software Suite and Windows Update is 8.62 vs. 8.612—so unless you have a good reason for using 8.62, you might want to consider sticking with what works. The OS is still unfinished.

Regardless, if you have the BIOS set for switchable graphics, you might want to try setting it to discrete graphics to see if that resolves your issue.

switchable detection is turned off and graphics is set to discrete.

well i wanted the new drivers because there was increase in performance across a lot of cards, thought it might help a little.

also, these drivers are made for windows 7, i dont think the OS being unfinished has to do with this, they obviously tested it before releasing.
