about 5 days ago I tried to install Windows 7 on HP mini and got same error.
It had 2 HP partitions (1 is for restore and another with some HP tools) and 2 other: system 100MB and OS+data in one partition..

I formatted first 2 (100MB one and 200 GB one) partitions using Windows tool on DVD when installing, then deleted it and created again 1 with 20GB size for OS. First time I had this error, then I rebooted, deleted it again, created again and it worked fine.

But then I didn't like how I installed all drivers and I decided to do this again. It was a mistake. I rebooted for over 20 times until it decided to install itself.

As I understood all you can try at first time is to delete and create only OS partition. and try it to install. If not then format it again and another try with install. If not then use reboot and do the same steps.

Do it as long until it work as it should.

I installed Windows 7, then installed all HP drivers and then decided to reinstall Windows again. It took about 20 minutes to success start of install.

I also used USB flash drive.

I recommend to create only 1 partition and live unallocated space for D drive.

And as I said try to do this steps:

create C partition (using advanced options when it lets you where to install) - format - select to install
if not then delete and try again. If not then reboot and repeat step 1.

If all this will not help in 15 attempts then try:
reboot and install on the partition which was created in the previous boot.

At this moment I can suggest only this.

    Hi DBZo07,

If it is so urgent for you, I would recommend re-install Ubuntu (there should be no problem with that).

And try to install Windows 7 on the VirtualBox. So you would have 2 systems simultaneously running.

Let me know if you find a solution for your problem.
