I'm about to do a windows 7 prof fresh install on my new samsung 840 basic ssd.
Are there particular aspects to keep in consideration during the installation or not ?
For what concern the drivers intallastion could it be better use the thinkpad utility or do You suggest to install them manually ?

I do them manually because I don't use most of the ThinkVantage suite, some of which is farty and bloated.

Does the thinkpad utility let the option to install only the drivers and the apps I want or it install also some other drivers/apps "silently" without explicit selection by the user ?
This update utility could be useful for the priority of the drivers in terms of installation time. -
This is what I do:
1. Update all the drivers before doing an installation
2. Use Double Driver to backup all the drivers
3. Fresh Reinstall (I used Windows Embedded Standard 7) which is even more streamlined than Win7.
4. Restore all the drivers using Double Driver.
The only package I need to install is OnScreen Display and I don't need to download anything else from Lenovo driver's site. It is running very smoothly.
I can't believe why the Lenovo Drivers are so bloated -- for example, a few hundred MBs for the WIFI driver. -
Whatsapp isole double driver aplivation andare in whatsapp or use vetrerie than classic manual driver download?

Sorry... I mean...
What is double driver app and why its usage is far better than manual driver download?

This is double driver:
BooZet Freeware | Double Driver - backup and restore installed drivers
It backs up your drivers and restore them after you reinstall your OS -- all this can be done within a few minutes. I find it extremely handy and there is no need to install bloated packages one by one. -
So Can I use the app to backup the drivers (Putting them on a dvd), replace the hd with ssd, make a fresh install (win 7) and then update the drivers using tht dvd ?
In this way it sounds only a little better than the manual download from lenovo site.
Or not ? -
???

We went through this when the X220 was released. Myself and others tried fresh install as well as factory image. The Lenovo factory images increase battery life substantially with the same power settings. Lenovo has optimized their Windows images for quite some time now. You're best off just uninstalling any bloat.

What does it mean ?
The question was inherent to the backup of drivers only, and the way to install them when the "new" os will be installed (In the ssd).
