This is what I ordered with my new ThinkPad X61s 7668
1 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz SODIMM Memory (1 DIMM)
I want to install new RAM to get me up to 3gb, but I'm not sure which RAM to buy. I don't know what RAM is compatible with my laptop. i'm assuming I should just get an identical stick of RAM except 2gb, but I'm not 100% sure.
i'd appreciate it if you could give me a newegg link with what you think i should buy
I don't know if this matters, but the CPU i got was
Intel® Core 2 Duo L7500 LV (1.6GHz, 4MB L2, 800MHz FSB)
Thanks

I got my 4GB RAM from crucial. On their website you have Crucial Memory Advisor Tool where it tells you exactly what you need. And ever since I got them I have no problem with them.

The Fire Snake Notebook Virtuoso
Here you go
You can actually get anything on that page. Most people will tell you to go for the cheapest one from a quality company like OCZ, Crucial, Kingston, Corsair. They should all work fine. Make sure to go for one that has a lifetime warranty.
There is also another one from OCZ, but it is currently out of stock. Should be in soon.

there was a 1x2GB OCZ 4 days ago @ Frys for $23 after rebate

just go to newegg, click on computer hardware ->memories -> laptop memories. those should work. the ones with 200 pins
I got corsair VS for x61s, it worked -

I ended up going with the Crucial 2GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Laptop Memory - Retail that Fire Snake recommended
