    I just got my x120e and decided to run it through the usual tests, but upon testing a 1080p .mkv file, I've discovered that the video lags quiet a bit and not even uncommon to freeze on frames for a span of 5 seconds or more.

    I've ruled out the usual candidates, and have installed the latest video drivers and still to no avail. The memory is not taking much of a hit while playing 1080p, but the cpu levels are through the roof which makes me think something could be draining the cpu but I can't figure out what.

    Youtube 720p/1080p plays fine and 720p .mkv also works, I'm playing the .mkv's through VLC.

    This is on the factory install, perhaps I'd be better off going with a fresh?

    You are going to have to use DXVA on a system with such a slow CPU.

    In VLC:
    Tools-> Preference-> Input & Codecs-> Tick "Use GPU acceleration."
