Hi,
After a fatal coke spill on my T42p, I've decided to go with a new T61 (766417U). Some of the features that I would like are not available yet, so my questions is
1. Webcam, SD card reader & FDE drive (Full disk encryption), - Can these be retrospectivly fitted?
2. Will my HDD caddy that slots into the bay on my T42P fit the new T61?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards,
nick.

Yes, according to the spec on the Lenovo site, it does use an ultrabay slim, so assuming the ultrabay slim drive has not changed specs, it will work. Can anyone confirm?

Although at the moment there isn't a T61 configuration I like. Holding out until they have the combination of features I want (15" wide with dedicated graphics and integrated webcam, what are my chances, even with the T61P?).
Interestingly, I looked at my T42 order receipt the other day and saw that I ordered it in the beginning of May '03 right when the T42 was released. It wasn't shipped until August. Seems this isn't something new for them -- which makes it even more inexcusable, really, that they haven't addressed the availability issues years later.
A few questions on the T61 - What can be retro fitted?
